The After Action Review: Learning Through Reflection
The After Action Review-Improvement
Through Reflection is a half-day class that teaches participants
how to use the After Action Review to turn their experiences
and those of their team into learning opportunities. Through
this we instill the concept of practical continuous improvement
empowering participants to reach their potential and to
better support the organizational goals and objectives.
Participants
will learn how to:
- Identify
success or failure in reaching desired objectives
- Organize
data and observation of events into useable knowledge
for improvement
- Run an
organized session in which they and their team can share
perceptions to
enhance team performance and interaction
- Maintain
civility and professionalism within their team during
the After Action Review
- Use the
data and feedback collected from the sessions to team
strengths and weaknesses
The course consists of instructor-introduced
concepts followed practical application exercises where each
participant will assume the role of leader to run an After
Action Review to apply those concepts.
This course is ideal
for managers at all levels who are leading teams in a results
driven environment and who are interested
in enhancing their team’s
capabilities to learn from and improve on past experience.
